If you recognise Bob Saget as the ‘nice guy’ of Full House, you might want to get that clean-cut image of him out of your head – or if you need help, watch any of his Entourage cameos – because his stand up show is anything but! The former Full House star will be performing in Sydney, promoting his new book, Dirty Daddy: The Chronicles of a Family Man Turned Filthy Comedian, and showing us his nasty side as part of the Sydney Comedy Festival. Following its success as part of the Sydney Festival last year, Micro Parks is back again, hitting various parks and turning them into stages, galleries, and playgrounds for one special weekend in the Surry Hills region! Five Australian artists will be showcasing their live works between noon and 5pm from Friday. Featuring artists include Justin Shoulder, music troupe Ensemble Offspring, Joan Ross, The Fondue Set, and Malcolm Whittaker. Micro Parks is a part of Performance Space’s PSpace Social season of multidisciplinary works, accessible in the Surry Hills and Darlinghurst areas. Check out the full program on the website! Sci-fi movies have come a long way since those B-grade days (Godzilla vs. Mothra anyone??), and to celebrate the advance, Future Screen presents the Conquest of Space series, a program of films screened at the Art Gallery of NSW and the College of Fine Arts. Comprising of the more thoughtful and mind-bending sci-fi titles such as Dawn of the Dead, Monsters, Starship Troopers, the films will be shown as part of the AGNSW’s Conquest of Space exhibition, looking at the relationship between science and art.
