Happy or not with the outcome, let’s face it; we’re all pretty glad this politically charged weekend is over. That means it’s time to frock up and get out and around Sydney over the next few days, and celebrate/commiserate!
The Comedy Lounge – Surrey Hills – Monday
This Monday The Café Lounge turns into The Comedy Lounge when it plays host to the comic stylings of John Cruckshank and Ray Badran. There will also be a range of supplementary acts supporting, and the action kicks off from 7pm.
Jurassic Lounge – Film and Photography – Tuesday
Jurassic Lounge is indulging their film-buff side with a special film and photography party, featuring the guys from Kino Sydney. There’ll be a green screen so that you can turn yourself into an animated GIF, and there will be special cinema-themed burlesque performances. Mt Warning – Live at Brighton Bar, Darlinghurst - Wednesday
Mt Warning are touring in support of the release of their brand new single Youth Bird. After supporting acts including The Temper Trap and The Reubens, these indie rockers will be performing four shows along the east coast of NSW, including one on Wednesday at Brighton Bar.
We Are The Brave – Goodgod Small Club – Wednesday
Singer-songwriter Jess Walker and hip hop producer Oxy Why combine to form We Are The Brave, an exploration into synth indie pop. This Wednesday they are launching their EP Noctua, at GoodGod. Tickets are $10 + BF and are available from: http://www.goodgodgoodgod.com/events/we-are-the-brave/
Sydney Fringe Festival – Friday 6th to Sunday the 29th September
The Sydney Fringe Festival kicked off last Friday, and over the next monthy promises to showcase some of the best comedy, art, music and other talent Sydney has to offer. You can catch the likes of Leah Flannagan and Jess Beck live at the 505 on Monday, The Rusty Spring Syncopators on Tuesday at Eliza’s Juke Joint, and stand up comedy by Triple J’s Scott Dooley at The Matchbox on Wednesday.
