The Archive Space - Bring Your Own Beamer (BYOB)
BYOB is an international multimedia installation created by German artist Raphael Rozendaal. The first official Sydney version of it will see video artists to bring themselves, their work and a projector to Archive Space Newtown this Friday 20th of December.
It is a celebration of the new world we live in and a glimpse of what computing could look like in the future. Today the Internet is confined to screens. Tomorrow information will surround us, composing our surfaces, defining our spaces, enmeshing itself with the ether. A moving image is never an object and when it is coupled with the increased flexibility of portable projection, the realm of experience quickly expands.
Giving artists free reign, the walls, ceiling and floors of Archive Space will transform through light and sound through the medium of projection.
Expect to experience a big unpredictable live mash-up of the modern video art smashed into one room - no single BYOB can ever possibly be repeated. It'll be colourful, energetic, chaotic, and noisy and who knows what else!
Artist line up includes: David Manley, Lisa Sammut, David Greenhalgh, Liam Ambrose, William Bennett, Katrina Stamatopoulos, James Nguyen, Ari Zainal, Optic Soup, Bryden Williams, Daniel Connell Eric Davidson and Haidee Ireland, Susan Bui.
Curated by Susan Bui.
Check out this one night only event at Archive Space 5 Eliza Street Newtown this Friday 6-8 pm
