Surry Hills Festival Returns This September
Surry Hills Festival is back! On Saturday September 27th Sydney’s favourite suburb comes to life with an exploration of the history, colourful culture, diversity and creative energy that embodies this iconic inner city habitat.
Themed “an Event of Stories, Love & Tales”, 2014 invites everyone to join in celebrating all there is to love about Surry Hills. The Festival Program is a FREE, family-friendly day packed with the trademark live music line-up, plus pop up spaces, nooks and crannies bursting with performance, local narratives, food and art – an engaging showcase of what makes Surry Hills the heart of Sydney’s innovative creative district.
Applications are now open for vendors, bands, DJs, artistic performers and local businesses to get involved. Local creative spaces are invited to open their doors as part of the inaugural Surry Hills Festival Artist, Creative & Design Studio Trail Apply here. Applications close 8 August.
From giant flash discos to dog shows, Sydney’s hottest bands and DJs to huge art installations, secret histories and a chilli, chocolate, cheese and flower Market – it’s a day worthy of the calendar countdown. Funds raised go towards vital community programs of the Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre.
From Ward Park to Shannon Reserve, Crown Street to Hill Street and everything in between, join the 50,000 expected Sydneysiders for the unofficial welcoming of spring.
