YOUNG HENRYS ANNOUNCE SMALL WORLD FESTIVAL
Young Henrys continue to serve the people with the announcement Small World, a one day music, food and craft beer festival and celebration of the inner west.
Closing down Jabez Street in Marrickville on Saturday September 20, Young Henrys have curated a food and music experience that will delight all the senses and highlight the vibrancy and community in the inner west.
Oscar & Rich from Newtown's own brewery explain: " the idea started to take shape during a conversation over a beer, as all good ideas do. We were talking about all the amazing things that people put into the world from the inner west...the conversation steered towards music of course and we were in agreement that the music of the inner west isn't celebrated as much as it deserves to be."
With a background and underlying passion in music - that lead to beer, that has now lead back to music - the line up was pulled together by the team at Young Henrys, from those they've collaborated with, to those who have inspired them and of course the bands they are just down right fans of. First on their list are music legends Tumbleweed who were once described as "the ultimate stoner rock band" by Ian McFarlane and will be playing tracks from their coveted back catalogue as well as their recent LP 'Sounds From The Other Side'.
Tumbleweed join local hip hop hero's True Vibenation from Big Village, mighty seven piece punk string outfit Little Bastard, scrungy blues rock n' roll band The Snowdroppers who will play one of their very few sets of 2014 and garage-punk-pop trio Bloods. The line up continues with Steve Smyth, The Delta Riggs and Richard In Your Mind who are releasing their first, second and fourth album respectively, and The Upskirts, Pat Capocci and Royal Tennyson who round off the impressive line up for this new festival.
There will be food stalls from some of the many incredible local outlets that seem to be driving Sydney's culinary fans to the inner west, including: Bloodwood, Cornersmith, Mary's and Porteno. Finally, Young Henrys have promised to pour their exclusively local Newtowner, the popular Cloudy Cider, plus their very new and very exciting to announce Noble Cut Hand Crafted Gin. Yep, you read that - your favourite Newtown brewery is now serving gin.
"Young Henrys Noble Cut Gin is a small batch distilled Gin made with varied botanicals including Juniper, Oris Root, Australian native bush tomato and Tasmanian grown hops. The gin is both floral and dry, complex and smooth. Uniquely Australian yet reminiscent of a classic London Dry" explains the makers. Presented by Time Out and FBI Radio, Young Henry's Small World is a family friendly, community minded celebration.
Tickets are $59 + bf and $13 + bf for kids under 13, on sale now from www.smallworldfestival.com.
