SafARI Opening Night
Art Month Sydney kicked on with a grand gathering on Friday for the SafARI opening night. An eclectic group of art enthusiasts, travelers, locals and passer-bys crowded the streets of Chippendale to get a taste of contemporary art.
Set in three locations, Wellington Street Projects, The Corner Co- operative and DNA Projects, the SafARI opening night created a buzz of excitement, in a literal sense – a bee for your own keeping for a small gold donation. One of many memorable moments on the night included an installation at the Wellington Street Projects and a heavy duel between artists in a fight club scene sketch competition. Nothing like firing up the crowd with Yonce’s latest album playing in the background. Excited yet?
Backyard Opera are proud Press Partners of SafARI 2014 and if this night was to account for the rest of the SafARI exhibitions around Sydney, then your free days should already be busy scheduling in time to check out the exhibitions.
