NEW VIDEO FOR NORTH ARM'S 'HOLLOW DAYS'
"…brimming with dreamy soundscapes and euphoric choruses…I've been completely enthralled by this track"
- Indie Shuffle
While you were busy daydreaming of days gone by, Roderick Smith has been putting together a video catalogue of his, which was premiered today on Lost at E Minor. The video for Hollow Days, the newest venture from North Arm, does just this as it takes the viewer through a montage of projected images set on tugging at your nostalgic heartstrings.
Newcastle based filmmaker, Thomas Hudson, employed the three screen, triptych aesthetic to juxtapose often overlooked details of child-like perspective. Taking inspiration from the everyday mundane and morphing it into something magical through a series of surprising links creating a unified and rhythmic dancing of patterns, shapes and textures.

North Arm is the newest branch in the experimental lo-fi family tree of Newcastle creative Roderick Smith's projects which include The Bowery LP under the Firekites guise (2008) as well as an earlier North Arm EP released last year through Spunk Records.
Approaching the experienced ears of J. Walker (Machine Translations), Rod embarked on a long-term collaboration with one of his songwriting heroes. J. Walker helped Rod refine the North Arm sound, both as producer and also an instrumental collaborator on many tracks.
Rod has enlisted the assistance of a crew of champion musos: Sean Roche (lead guitar), Ianto Ware (bass) and Evan Clulow (drums and percussion) to create the live North Arm experience.
