Callout for Bands, Solo Artists and Roving Performers.
Newtown Festival is back for 2014, and right now it’s on the hunt for the best established and up-and-coming acts to fill its famously fresh, colourful, eclectic and talented line-up.
From humble beginnings, the Festival has grown to become the flagship of Newtown’s burgeoning creative scene, and a landmark event on Sydney’s cultural calendar. Each year over 80,000 people come together to experience its smorgasbord of music, food, the arts and grassroots creativity.
The Festival is a proud supporter of emerging creative talent, and is once again seeking expressions of interest from performers and entertainers in the following categories:
Bands and solo musicians.
Rock to reggae, hip hop to hillbilly – artists of all musical genres are invited to apply to perform onstage at the Festival.
Dancers, caberet performers, poets, ventriloquists – if you’re great at wowing a crowd, this opportunity is for you!
Hula hoopers, acrobats, clowns, quirky buskers, magicians – Newtown Festival is a celebration of the unique and colourful, so if you have something a little different up your sleeve, get in touch!
The Festival is set to be held on Sunday the 9th November, at its annual home in Camperdown Memorial Rest Park. Applications close on the 31st July, and can be found on the Festival website at http://www.newtowncentre.org/festival/.
Newtown Festival is presented annually by the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre, raising funds to support the invaluable work it does with the local community. Gold donations from attendees go directly towards programs at the Centre, providing services for vulnerable and disadvantaged people.
