MBFWA 2014 Runway - The BYO Edit #3
Wednesday saw a series of new gen labels both somewhat established and emerging, showcasing some strong conceptual collections. Here are our picks from the midweek runway.
There is no question that Dion Lee is among the top of Australia’s most talented new generation of Designers. His latest collection sees his signature tailoring take a more relaxed approach for Spring/Summer 2014. Light chambrays and denims combined with fresh whites, in clean cut simple silhouettes with clever details, the collection continues to offer pieces that have a cool minimalistic edge.
We have seen Haryono emerge as a key Australian talent for some time now and this latest collection showcases exactly why he is making graceful waves in the Fashion world. A beautifully constructed, delicately bold, kaleidoscope of gradated colors flowed down the runway in a way that only Haryono could have envisioned.
The Raffles new generation of designers showcased a rich diversity of collections. Each with their own unique signature, Diyana Kosso, Gabrielle Lee, Ophelie, Paul Nathapol, Will Be, and Sara Aljaism will see great success in their future design endeavors from such a strong beginning.
