Jazzy Jeff is still The Man
Turntable maestro, record producer and Fresh Prince of Bel-Air royalty Jazzy Jeff parted the chlorinated waters of Ivy Pool over the weekend with a very special daytime set. It was fitting that the clouds cleared just in time to make way for one of hip-hops finest, a messiah of the dance-floor if you will; who from start to finish had the dance-floor packed (some might even say he christened it). Not bad for a two hour (plus) set if you ask me.
The messiah on the decks, sun kissed bodies, poolside margaritas and lots of happy people made for a very good day in the sun. Something I intend on doing again (and again) this summer. The only thing I was a little bit disappointed about was that I didn’t get to witness Jazzy walk on water. Apparently we have to wait until next time to see that.
There was also a quality selection of hip-hop inspired art scattered around Ivy Pool by the likes of LadyJ, Atong Atem, Ala Paredes, Skulk, The Dirt, Lotte Smith and Amy Sutherland which made for some nice browsing in between songs. Check out the images below to see for yourself, and remember, girls ain’t nothing but trouble.
