FBi RADIO LAUNCHES 'BRUSH WITH FAME', AN AUCTION OF FAMOUS DOODLES
Sydney’s FBi Radio is launching a unique art auction to raise funds for the not-for-profit station in its tenth year on air. BRUSH WITH FAME is your chance to own an original one-of-a-kind work by your favourite musician or band.
FBi volunteers have been catching favourite acts from around the world as they streamed through the station, asking musicians to decorate a plain white canvas using fabric markers. The artists took inspiration from whatever subject matter they chose and donated these exclusive pieces to the station for BRUSH WITH FAME.
There are over 40 works from international and Australian artists spanning all genres including Iggy & The Stooges, Vampire Weekend, Moby, Tame Impala, The xx, Disclosure, Florence and the Machine, Animal Collective, Dirty Projectors, Jay Reatard, Foals and many more.
In addition to the world class list of musicians, there are also works from visual artist and Archibald Prize finalist Abdul Abdullah, world renowned street artist Beastman, media commentator and author Marieke Hardy and Australian icon, musician and creative mind behind “Mambo”, Reg Mombassa.
Now, these very special works of art could be yours to own. All will be on display at fbiradio.com/brushwithfame, from Wednesday November 13 at 10am (Eastern Daylight Savings Time).
An online auction launches globally on Friday November 22, 9pm (EDST) via eBay with bids starting at just AUD$50. Each piece comes complete with a Certificate of Authenticity from FBi Radio. The auction closes on Monday December 1 at 9pm (EDST) and works will be shipped the following day, making it to your door for the best (and most unique) Christmas present ever.
