Perth’s Toastface Grillah
Toasties and coffee. It's simple, it's laid back and it's what the good people at Perth eatery Toastface Grillah are all about.
Yep. I'll give you a moment to appreciate that little piece of creative genius.
Toastface Grillah is reclaiming the beloved toasted sandwich from the clutches of your childhood and serving it up to you in a paper box, along with some damn good coffee, and great news…there's not a Kraft slice in sight. Amongst the eight sandwiches on offer are the aptly named Ol' Faithful (smoked ham, cheddar, sweet pickle), Feelin' a Lil' Chilli (cheddar, jalapenos, smoked paprika and chilli flakes) and The King (peanut butter, brie, banana and honey). We tried out all three and they were perfection.
Not only was the food good but if you can divert your attention away from the cheese feast before you for long enough, you'll notice you've stumbled into what feels more like your friendly neighbour's backyard than an inner city cafe. Its cosy, intimate vibes make the perfect sanctuary for heading down to toastie town away from the glaring eye of the city hustle.
You can find this carbohydrate haven hiding down Perth's Grand Theatre Lane, nestled cozily between Barrack and Wellington street. Just go down the alleyway, past the bins, and there it is, right between your childhood and nostalgia, waiting patiently for you like an old friend that shows up from time to time, welcoming you into their toasty arms and soothing you with their gooey heart.
